Q & A with Tom Knight
The Knight brothers are certainly a force to be reckoned with, when it comes to Saddle Bronc riding. We’d previously sat down with his younger brother, Mick Knight, now we have the opportunity to catch up with the other half to this dynamic duo, Australia Saddle Bronc Champion, Tom Knight. Let’s hear what Tom had to say and the highlights of his year so far.
Wrangler (WR): How did it all begin for Tom, tell us the story of how you got into Saddle Bronc & campdrafting?
Tom Knight (TK): I grew up campdrafting with my family and still do a bit, I got into rodeo with my brothers. I watched my older brother ride broncs and knew that’s what I wanted to do.
WR: How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
TL: Ambitious, Committed, Persistent, Outgoing & Tall *laughs*
WR: Who has been your biggest influences?
TL: That would be my brothers and my brother-in-law.
WR: Most memorable moment in Saddle Bronc?
TL: Winning Ponca City, Oklahoma, and winning my APRA Pro Tour Saddle Bronc Title.
WR: Tell us a Fun Fact about you?
TL: I’m the only one of my family who was born in Queensland.
WR: What advice would you like to give the younger generations starting out in Saddle Bronc?
TL: Surround yourself with good people, always lend a hand and never stop learning.
WR: What is your best fashion tip?
TL: Always tuck in your shirt.
WR: What’s coming up for the remainder of 2023?
TL: A lot of travelling to as many rodeos - as I can get to - and I’ll be taking it one bronc at a time.
